We’re hiring!

Applications are now invited for three post-doctoral research associate positions as part of the Psypartitions project.

Psypartitions aims to explore the politics of psychiatry in partition contexts across the twentieth century, and we are looking for post-doctoral researchers who will be responsible for undertaking research into the project’s three core case studies: the Greek-Turkish population exchange in the 1920s; the Partition of India in the 1940s; and the break-up of Yugoslavia in the 1990s.

All three positions are available for up to three years and applications from candidates with PhDs (completed or nearing completion) in history, anthropology, or other disciplines with relevant research expertise and skills are warmly welcome. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a distinctive vision for how to approach the study of the history of psychiatry and mental health in relation to their specific case study, and will have the skills and initiative to be able to pursue and realise this research vision.

For full details including how to apply, please follow the links above. The deadline for applications is 2 March 2026 and shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview (online) in the second half of the month. For further information, please get in touch with the project PI, Dr Chris Sandal-Wilson, by email.
